Later that year Harriet married Charles Shakeshaft, a Lithographic Printer from Eston, North Yorkshire. Together they had eight children: four girls and two boys that we know of. From their birth records we can see that the family travelled across the country between Stockton, Middlesbrough, West Bromwich, Loughborough and Reading, before finally settling in Huddersfield in about 1899.
By 1901, they were living at 2 Halifax Old Road, Huddersfield before moving to Prospect House on Outcote Bank and then 85 Northgate by 1911.
In 1939, widowed Harriet was living with daughter Eveline and her husband at 2 Colne Terrace, Aspley, Huddersfield. In 1940, she died at the age of 82.
